Here are instructions on how to do the jailbreak and unlock the iPhone as 3G and 3GS using Windows BlackRa1n
These instructions are valid with the latest firmware 3.1.2, iPhone baseband 05.11.07 and needing hacktivism (activated with a operdor unofficial).
For those who have a new iPhone 3GS (with the new bootrom) BlackRa1n jailbreak only supports a tethered (connected to pc). This means that once you do the jailbreak not let your battery dies. If this happens will need to reconnect to the computer and use for BlackRa1n garment.
Before continuing make sure you are on the 05.11.07 version of the baseband. If you’re not update your firmware to 3.1.2 using iTunes before proceeding.
Step 1
Open your favorite browser and go to the following address http://www.blackra1n.com. You click on the Windows logo at the bottom of the screen.
Step 2
When you save the download to your desktop
Step 3
Then double-click on the executable blackra1n on Desktop to launch the program
Step 4
Make sure your iPhone or iPod is connected to the computer, then click on the button make it ra1n
Step 5
Your iPhone will be put into recovery mode.

blackra1n will run your device and then restart.
Un mensaje aparecerá informándote que BlackRa1n es gratis y que si lo aprecias puedes donar a GeoHot at geohot@gmail.com.
Step 6
Once your device will restart and with the jailbreak and you’ll notice an icon in the Springboard blackra1n. Make sure you have an Internet connection and crushes the icon to launch the application.
Choose the installer of your choice, if you need to unlock / activate your iPhone select sn0w. Click the Install button at the top right of the screen to start.
BlackRa1n begin to download and install the packages you have selected.
If you choose to enable / free your iPhone using blacksn0w going to see a log for sn0w Post Install. CommCenter was restarted and no need to reboot the device. If your carrier does not support disable 3G. Click the Close button to continue.
Step 7
Once completed BlackRa1n Respring will make the iPhone and we will find the installer you selected in our Springboard.
Step 8
After you’ve seen that your installer is working correctly you may want to use the Uninstall button blackra1n found in the application to remove the springboard BlackRa1n.

Estas son las instrucciones de cómo hacer el jailbreak y como liberar el iPhone 3G y 3GS usando BlackRa1n para Windows
Estas instrucciones son validas con el ultimo firmware 3.1.2, el baseband 05.11.07 y iPhone que necesiten hacktivarse ( activarse con un operdor no oficial ).
Para aquellos que tienen un nuevo iPhone 3GS (con el nuevo Bootrom), BlackRa1n solo soporta un tethered jailbreak (conectado al pc ). Esto significa que una vez que realices el jailbreak no dejes que muera tu batería. Si pasa eso necesitaras reconectarlo a la computadora y usar BlackRa1n para que prenda.
Antes de continuar asegúrate que estas en la versión 05.11.07 del baseband. Si no lo estas actualiza tu firmware al 3.1.2 usando iTunes antes de continuar.
Paso 1
Abre tu navegador favorito y dirígete a la siguiente dirección http://www.blackra1n.com. Has click en el logo de Windows al fondo de la pantalla.
Paso 2
Cuando aparezca guarda al descarga en tu Escritorio
Paso 3
Después Doble-Click sobre el ejecutable blackra1n en el Escritorio para lanzar el programa
Paso 4
Asegúrate de que tu iPhone o iPod está conectado al computador, después da click en el botón make it ra1n
Paso 5
Tu iPhone será puesto en recovery mode.
Vas a ver una imagen de GeoHot que reemplaza la imagen de defecto del recovery mode.
blackra1n se ejecutara y después tu dispositivo se reiniciara.
Un mensaje aparecerá informándote que BlackRa1n es gratis y que si lo aprecias puedes donar a GeoHot at geohot@gmail.com.
Paso 6
Una vez que tu dispositivo reinicie estará ya con el jailbreak y notaras un icono de blackra1n en el Springboard. Asegúrate de tener una conexión a internet y aplasta el icono para lanzar la aplicación.
Escoge el instalador de tu preferencia, si necesitas liberar/activar tu iPhone selecciona sn0w . Presiona el botón Install que se encuentra arriba derecha de la pantalla para empezar.
BlackRa1n empezara a descargar y a instalar los paquetes que seleccionaste.
Si escogiste activar/liberar tu iPhone usando blacksn0w vas a ver un Post Install log para sn0w. CommCenter se reiniciara y no hay necesidad de reiniciar el aparato. Si tu operador no soporta 3G desactívalo. Presiona el botón Close para continuar.
Paso 7
Una vez completado el BlackRa1n va a hacer un respring en el iPhone y nos encontraremos con el instalador que seleccionamos en nuestro Springboard.
Paso 8
Cuando ya hayas visto que tu instalador trabaja correctamente quizá quieras usar el botón Uninstall blackra1n que se encuentra en la aplicación BlackRa1n para removerlo del springboard.
